By following the same process of conducting your clinical examination on every animal, you will have the confidence to examine any animal you come across. Whether it is a dog, cat, horse, rhino or zebra - the process of examination will be the same for any animal.
Topic Three - Wound Management; Animal Handling I Effective wound care requires knowledge about how wounds heal, how to recognise stages of wound healing, how to prevent delays in wound healing, how to manage different types of wounds and products to use. Part 1 of Animal Handling discusses safe animal handling techniques and equipment required for small and large animals, to be applied during wound care.
Topic Four - Pet First Aid IPet First Aid knowledge is the basis of all animal management. We discuss common conditions seen at home, actions/treatments that can be performed at home or prior to taking to the vet. We include safe animal handling procedures for handling & restraint of injured animals. Your tasks will include how to manage a sick animal.
